Survey on CSSIW Regulation changes and how they affect Forest School

Please give your feedback on the new regulations, how these changes might affect you and how Forest School Wales can best support you with this by taking a couple of minutes to answer our short survey (just 5 really short questions!) which you can access HERE

Information for Forest School Wales members on the new CSSIW regulations

One of our trustees, Tom Cockbill, along with some other members of FSW have been looking at how the changes to the CSSIW* regulations will affect Forest School Practitioner that are offering playscheme provision to children under the age of 12 years old (as the age the regulations apply to is going up from 8 to 12). We would advise that you contact your local Play Officer in your local county for up to date info and the regulations can also be viewed in full HERE.
The first and most important thing is that, if you need to register, you will need to start sending in the forms ASAP; this requirement has changed very recently.
A lot will be down to the individual proving that they have suitable provision for looking after the children in their care.

*CSSIW stands for ‘Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales’, which is the regulatory body responsible for ensuring that the standards of the revised National Minimum Standards for Regulated Child Care are met.
