Does Wales need a National Governing Body (NGB)?
Thursday, 5 August 2010The Trustees of YGC/FSW feel that discussions about a UK wide NGB for Forest School are misguided, and would counsel that England should first develop its own national membership and training organisations which could engage in this debate alongside the long established Welsh bodies.

Survey circulated by the IOL (Institute for Outdoor Learning) Forest School Special Interest Group (SIG) and the (English) Forest School Trainers Network.
Whilst Trustees fully support the need for national networks to be established in England where Forest School provision is less developed than in Wales, we do however have serious concerns about the above initiative, amongst other things about the proposal for a UK wide body. We have outlined some of these concerns below.
